Always family!

Luke, Megan, Abigail, Mark Gibson & LaDonna               “Das Gib’s Holloway Holidays” 2015

With all of the experiences and years of commitment that it takes to become an accomplished violinist, it is no wonder that participation with the Birmingham Suzuki Violinists is somewhat akin to having extended family. Each year, college students and alumnae come back to visit LaDonna both at home and in the studio! Frequently, past students show up to Spring Concert and just surprise us!  They frequently join us in the final Playdown, or sit in our Orchestra  or improvise in our traditional finale, the wild  Orange Blossum Special hoot’n extravaganza!

Surprize Group Rehearsal Visit from Abigail!

We have had many wonderful experiences together and students continue on beyond their tenure in the our violin studio and continue to share their lives and friendship!

2017 Spring Concert

Birmingham Suzuki Violinists will present our foremost event of the year, on March 12, 2017.  As usual,  our best soloists in violin and piano will  be presented along with popular ensemble pieces from the classical repertoire. For special music, this year’s concert will feature authentic music from Eastern Europe. Polish, Yiddish and Russian! The event will be held at the beautiful Dorothy Jemison Day Theater at Alabama School of Fine Arts. If you’ve never been to our Spring Concert before, you are in for a treat!  As for friends, grandparents and veterans of our concerts, we look forward to seeing you again!

Adult Tickets are $10. Proceeds support the concert expenses, and educational supplies.  Concert is of course family friendly, so kids are free!
